Also known as The Village, the EDGE project is located in downtown Redmond, Washington adjacent to its sister project, Core83. We made use of traditional exterior detailing as required of buildings in the design overlay district in which the project site is located. This detailing compliments but does not copy that of the Core 83 project to the South. The "L" shaped parcel interlocks with the Core 83 project site thus creating a close adjacency. In order to provide more space between the companion projects the outdoor open space at The Village is provided at the South end of the 5 story building next to the outdoor space at Core 83. The building lobby and interior common areas use areas open to the South facing plaza to provides optimal solar exposure there.
