Kent Smutny has over 30 years of architectural experience with a variety of different project types. Including experience with commercial, hospitality, residential and mixed use projects. Prior to becoming principal at Veer Architecture, Kent worked as a Project Manager for eight years with several different firms in the Seattle area. Kent brings to Veer Architecture, his experience in zoning and building code research, design development, construction document preparation, and project management. Kent is licensed in the state of Washington, is a member of the AIA and holds LEED Green Associate credentials.

Lavina is a licensed architect with more than 20 years of architecture experience in multi-family and office building projects. Lavina has been a member of AIA since 2005 and is LEED AP Certified with an interest in sustainable design practices. Lavina’s work on 123-4th Apartments, Olympia, WA was recognized with an invitation to speak at the AIA Symposium organized by the Committee of the Environment (COTE) and the building received LEED Silver certification. Prior to becoming Principal at Veer, she was a Project Manager at Veer, HDL+T, and Baylis Architects. Lavina is a member of the Diversity in Design Group, Seattle AIA and is passionate about encouraging women architects and supporting minority owned businesses.

Wei is designer and coordinator with experience in schematic design and design development for a wide range of project types. Assisted living, apartment and townhouse projects reinforce his specialization in large scale hotel chains including Marriott and Hilton. With a background in landscape architecture, his skill set also accommodates large scale project planning and medium scale site landscape design. Working with accounting provides Wei with a business mindset, balances practicality with a passion for beautiful design.

Saurabh is an Architectural Designer / BIM Manager and Construction Manager-in-Training (CMAA) from Mumbai, India. He is a utilitarian designer with a problem-solving approach to design and a keen eye for detail. Seeking a perfect balance between design, functionality and the experiential aspect of a space is his design motto. He began his undergraduate education at the University of Mumbai and transferred to Montana State University for the completion of his Bachelor’s for exposure and a more varied experience. He also has taken Earth Construction courses at Auroville, India; which inspired him to follow the Environmental Design route at MSU. In his spare time, you can find Saurabh engrossed in sketching, painting in watercolor Paddle boarding or cooking sumptuous food.

Aaron is an Architectural Designer with experience working on projects ranging from commercial interiors to mixed-use and residential. He is passionate about using architecture and urban design to positively impact the built, natural, and social environments. Aaron received his M.Arch & B.S. in Architecture from the University of Detroit Mercy. Originally from Detroit, MI, Aaron grew up fascinated by Detroit's unique urban fabric and Art Deco architecture. This interest ultimately inspired him to pursue a career in architecture and urban design. In addition to Detroit, Aaron has also lived in New York City, NY; Barcelona, Spain; Grenoble, France; and Warsaw, Poland, each inspiring his design approach. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling to new places, jamming out to '70s and '80s music, and cheering on his favorite sports teams.

Jahnvi is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Architecture at the University of Washington. Originally from Ahmedabad, India, she completed her undergraduate degree in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering. She transitioned into architecture with a strong interest in sustainable, community-focused design. Her work is guided by a practical approach to creating spaces that offer comfort, care, and functionality for everyday life. Outside of architecture, she enjoys traveling, sketching, cooking, and keeping things organized.

Sam has been dedicated to mastering multi-family, commercial and senior community, independent, and Assisted living over the range of twenty-three years in the Architecture Industry. Holding an active license in the State of Texas and an inactive license in the State of Washington, Sam is further pursuing commercial broad-spectrum designing and master planning faith-based projects. He has successfully managed from inception to occupancy, numerous multi-family, commercial and senior living projects throughout his profession and champions mentoring younger staff. He provides a quality control skill set in detailing and building code/ accessibility compliance to every project.
